Regina Hubbard 2011 President Message from the President Memphis Chapter is still riding high from our trip to Washington, D C and our big win, #1 in thenation in Recruitment for large chapters. This is a first time achievement for our chapter and we are very proud of the hard work of our leadership team. We earned the Gold Chapter Excellence Award, too. When we started the year our plan was simple: 1. Articulate the Brand 2. Exceed Member Expectations, and 3. Become the premier Real Estate organization in our area. To Articulate the Brand, we wanted everyone to know who we are. We are over 60 years of experience. We are committed to the personal and professional success of our members. We are educators, providing dynamic and relevant programs. We are business builders. And we are a diverse group of professionals; young, experienced, male, female, and all ethnic backgrounds. We are working to exceed member expectations with relevant and dynamic programs. In April we hosted a Mega Networking event with CRS. In May the Multi Million Dollar Club joined us in our spring fundraiser “Burritos and Bingo”. It was a fun and successful event. Best Buy and the Geek Squad were our guests at the June Business Resource Meeting “Tech Fair”. YPN co-hosted our spring recruitment event, “Murder Mystery Party”. And we are a sponsor of the PMN class July 13th in We are putting a program in place now to address membership retention. Our V P Membership has organized a mentoring program, “Big Sister/Big Brother – Little Sister/ Little Brother”. We are challenging our Big Sisters/Big Brothers to develop a relationship with their counterpart by making at least 3 face to face contacts with the new member. Members who successfully complete the task will be rewarded for their efforts. Our Ways and means Chairman has planned a fabulous “Wine and Cheese” party June 23rd for our sponsors and affiliate members to show our appreciation for their support. We are becoming the premier Real Estate organization in our area. Our members have taken the lead at MAAR. We are involved at every level. During Member Appreciation Week, June 6-10, we sponsored an ice cream social, worked diligently with the staff and attended all events. We have set the bar with style, professional excellence and a sense of fun. You know, we must be hitting the mark because we have new affiliate and REALTOR members contacting us to become apart of our outstanding team. |

In the News.....
The Memphis Chapter of the Women’s Council of Realtors has been recognized nationally for its outstanding recruitment efforts.
The WCR Memphis Chapter won first place in recruitment in the large chapter category by National WCR during the recent National Association of Realtors mid-year convention in Washington.
The Memphis Chapter recruited 33 new national members from Jan. 1 through March 31, bringing its total to 79. National WCR has about 280 local chapters and about 70 are in the large chapter category (50 to 79 members).
“We have won national awards for excellent performance, but this particular award is a first for our chapter and we are very proud,” 2011 WCR Memphis Chapter president Regina Hubbard said in a statement. “Membership is thriving and I think one reason is we try to lead through our actions – whether that’s supporting the Youth Villages 5K or raising money for breast cancer research.”
WCR was formed in 1938 to promote equality for female agents at a time when many local real estate boards were resistant to offering memberships to women. It is the 12th-largest women’s professional organization in the United States. The Memphis Chapter was chartered in 1948.
